Sign In and Add Users

This section describes how to add new users, and the lockout behavior in the OpenNMS Portal. See First-time sign in for information on that topic.

Add users

By default, all OpenNMS Portal users have the Admin role. This allows them to do the following:

  • Add other users.

  • Reboot the appliance.

  • Upgrade snaps.

  • View container or snap information.

  • Manage and subscriptions.

To add a user, follow these steps:

  1. Click the User symbol at the top-right of the screen.

  2. Click Users.

  3. Select Add New.

  4. Type the user’s name and email address, and click Add New.

    An account activation email is automatically sent to the new user’s email address.

Lockout behavior

After 10 failed attempts to sign in to the OpenNMS Portal, you are automatically locked out of your account. When this happens, you receive an email informing you that your account has been locked.

To unlock your account, talk to your OpenNMS Portal administrator, or contact OpenNMS support.
