View a Minion Appliance in the OpenNMS UI

By default, the OpenNMS core instance automatically provisions the Minion as a node and monitors it with the Minion-Heartbeat service. As of Horizon 31.0.2+ and Meridian 2023, OpenNMS also monitors the Minion Appliance using SNMP.

Follow these steps to view the Minion Appliance in the OpenNMS UI:

  1. Log in to your OpenNMS instance.

  2. Click Info > Nodes in the top menu bar.

  3. Find the Minion whose details you want to view and click its name.

    You should see something similar to the following:

You can click any of the links in the Availability area (including SNMP) to view more details about the Minion Appliance.
